On a professional film set, a wireless video feed that drops at the wrong moment isn't an inconvenience — it's money burning. DJI's new SDR Transmission 2 is built for exactly that environment: 4K/60 HDR transmission at 50Mbps, with 35 milliseconds of latency and up to 4 kilometers of range.
The system is designed for multi-camera productions. Instead of rebooting gear and re-pairing every time a crew needs to change camera feeds, operators can switch feeds directly on an RX transceiver or through the Ronin app. The goal, plainly stated: less time troubleshooting wireless, more time shooting.
Video outputs cover professional displays through SDI, HDMI, or DisplayPort, while USB-C lets phones and tablets join as mobile monitors. The Ronin app adds the tools cinematographers expect — LUTs, focus peaking, waveform, and false color — plus remote control of compatible cameras including aperture, shutter speed, ISO, and record triggering.
Power is flexible too: standard NP-F batteries, USB-C PD, or direct power from compatible DJI gimbals when the transmitter is mounted on them. For productions where a reliable live feed isn't optional, the SDR Transmission 2 is shaping up as a serious contender.
